Mental Health
Many children with learning disabilities also struggle with mental well being. Many children suffer from high anxiety, depression, low esteem, and maybe even behaviours that are unsafe (picking at skin, pulling out their hair).
Our teachers are trained to help support the children and offer strategies to help. Also, by creating a safe learning space children often open up and become ready to face the fears that have led to feeling mentally unwell. Furthermore, our founder has been working towards her certificate in counselling, specializing in children and adolescent well being.
It is one more way in which we are able to support our students and their families.
